Terence (Terry) A. Keogan, 83, died peacefully surrounded by his immediate family on Jan. 23. Born in Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan, Ireland, he immigrated to the US in the mid-1950s and settled in the NY metropolitan area. He was a proud member of the 1952 Cavan All-Ireland Championship football team. Upon his arrival in NY he worked diligently at various jobs until he began service in the US Army. Shortly after completion of his military duty he married his loving wife of 53 years, Mary (nee O’Donnell). They settled in the suburbs of Long Island, where they raised six adoring children: Marguerite, Kevin, Terence, Maura, Jennifer, and James. After almost 40 years of hard work as both a bus driver for Queens Transit and successful owner of a small transportation company, Terry fully retired at the age of 70. Upon retirement, he moved to Dutchess County, NY with his wife, where he was a founding member of The Links Golf Club in Unionvale, NY. Natalie Caracciolo of Locust Valley, formerly of Glen Cove, passed away on Jan. 27, 2014, at the age of 94. She was pre-deceased by her husband Walter. She is survived by her daughters Diane Jordan Ursprung (pre-deceased by Kip) of Brookline, MA; Jane Armstrong (Jim) of Lattingtown; Liz Krumenacker of Winthrop, MA; Annemarie (Romesh Vaitilingam) of Bristol, England; in addition to her grandchildren Meredith D’Agostino (Mark), Blake, Cordelia (Greg Baer), Lindsay, Brett, Cara and Marco and her nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother Alfred Tufo and her sisters Carmella and Edith and Julia Sedmak. She was a big band and jazz singer who performed on radio and in nightclubs in New York City from 1937–1942. Known as Natalie Young, she sang weekly on WNEW radio; her career was launched at Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater in Harlem. Natalie loved her family, friends, gardening, drawing and painting. Julius Nadle, 88, World War II veteran, passed away in New Bern, N.C. on Jan. 4, 2014. He was owner of Color Clad, Inc. for 40 years, at one time owning three stores on Long Island. He was past president of the Paint Dealers Assn. and also of the Locust Valley Rotary Club and received the Paul Harris Award. His special passion was working for the Gift of Life program which brought children from all over the world to the U.S. to have heart surgery. Upon retirement, Julie and Bea retired to North Carolina, where he joined the New Bern Rotary club and became their historian. Julie and Bea enjoyed delivering food for the Meals on Wheels program. Julie leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Bea, daughter Kathy Holmes and Tom Covitz, granddaughter Kelly D’Ambrosio and husband Daniel and their children Philip and Michael. Also survived by sister-in-law Jeanette Nadle and niece Lucette and husband Barry and nephew Alan and wife Stacey. Arrangements were made by Cotten Funeral Home and service and burial were at Coastal Carolina Veteran’s Cemetery in Jacksonville, N.C.
