Eileen M. Hurley, beloved sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2014. Eileen was the daughter of John T. and Della J. Hurley. She was predeceased by her sister Ann M. Novakoski and her brother Monsignor Daniel J. Hurley. Eileen is survived by her sister Theresa Galvin and brother James Hurley and her nieces and nephew Joan Davenport, Mary Ann Graffagnino, Leo Novakoski, Eileen Gilson, Ann Galvin, Maureen Kiggins, Lisa Hurley, Cristy Hurley and Michele Vesty and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Obituary: Francis G. Armstrong
Francis (Frank) G. Armstrong, 90, of Locust Valley passed away on March 10, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Frank was born in Mt. Kisco, NY on October 23, 1923, the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Kennedy) Armstrong. After graduating from Glen Cove High School in 1942, he was employed by the FBI fingerprint division for the next 1 1/2 years before enlisting in the Army Air Corps.
In 1939, his parents began renting 9 acres from the Guthries of “Meudon.” With the purchase of 10 cows they began “Armstrong Dairy.” In 1947, Frank and his father purchased this acreage on Peacock Lane and with his brothers Arthur and Robert they continued to work the farm that expanded to include Jersey cows, a bottling plant and local milk delivery. Many who knew Frank will remember their kindergarten field trips to the Dairy where they visited the farm operation and finished the tour with a snack of Girl Scout cookies and Armstrong Dairy chocolate milk.

Anthony (Tony) was a key player in the Long Island Theatrical Community, working with multiple groups, carrying out an assorted array of duties from director to dancer for over 35 years.
There will a Celebration of Life service for Anthony Grover at the See Cliff United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 10 at noon. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to the Tony Grover Memorial Fund.

Casimera has joined her loving husband of over 60 years, Peter John Gorski Sr. and her son, Peter J Gorski Jr. in heaven, as well as, her brother John Gains. Casimera is survived by her son Kenneth Gorski, his wife Jane of Jacksonville, FL; and her granddaughter Jama Podell-Vitale, her husband Thomas and her two great-grandchildren, Claudia and Luca. Casimera was an active member of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church on Long Island and was active with the Veterans Association. Obituary: Edward Robert Flanagan
Edward Robert Flanagan passed away on April 6, 2014. He was born Sept. 8, 1919 to the late John Francis Flanagan and Madeline Kober Flanagan in Brooklyn and spent his childhood in Queens. He married the late Harriet Hoffman Flanagan in 1950 and raised three daughters in Glen Cove. He served with the 52nd Medical Battalion in the Mediterranean Theater during World War II, where he earned a Bronze Star. He was a graduate of Pace College and worked with Price Waterhouse as a certified public accountant before becoming a financial adviser to the IBM Corporation in Armonk. He was an active volunteer who generously lent his financial expertise to the Reformed Church of Locust Valley and to Sagamore Yacht Club in Oyster Bay, where he served both organizations as treasurer for many years; he was also a past commodore of Sagamore Yacht Club and an elder at the Reformed Church. He was a talented athlete who sailed, skied, played golf and easily excelled in sports and an inveterate tinkerer who enjoyed working with his hands. But he placed family before all his interests and accomplishments and was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his three daughters Susan, Cynthia and Melissa; and by his three grandsons Edward, James and Philip. Visitation at the Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas, Glen Cove.
